I am currently located in Roanoke Virginia where I live with my parter of 6 years (and the memory of our fur baby Truman). For the 24-25 academic year, this is what I spend my time doing:
Being a present partner, friend, and son.
Working as an a fulltime TRIO Success Coach for 250 students at a local community college.
Teaching multiple sections of a College Orientation course for both LASS transfer and CS/IT.
Working on a house built in 1921. Learning plenty but always more to do. Also ...help.
Working on completion of my Masters in Cyberpsychology from the great institution of Norfolk State University. Currently I am working on my capstone research looking into the potential predictors of online learning adoption.
Learning as a research assistant with the cyberpsychology lab at NSU and contribute wherever capable.
Co-Advise my college's psychology club and psychology honors society
Serving on my college's AI Committee to ensure that we are staying abreast with the speedy developments and the impact it is and can have.
Working as the client for our college's Human Services program. I provide believable characters for them to practice the skills they are learning.
When time permits, I am out in my garden, tinkering with electronics and programming, reading on my porch with my partner, and trying new recipes.
On a more global level, these are my goals:
Continue to make time for my significant other. She is gracious and forgiving of my 'whackamole' weekly schedule and ADHD brain.
Continued weight loss by ensuring that I eat healthy while practicing keto and intermittent fasting (3 months in & 35p down)
Finish my masters in the coming year so as to be able to meet the needs of TRIO. Also to open the door for potential of teaching psychology courses in the future.
Continue building up my financial literarcy to be better able to teach my students.
If my activities or priorities happen to change, I’ll update this page to reflect those changes. Last update of this page was December 6th, 2024.
This page is a public declaration and a reminder to myself. It was inspired by the work of Thomas Frank and Derek Shivers.
